A lot of Hilliard's roofs are coming due.
Hilliard is a short drive from our shop in Plain City, and we're on roofs here all the time.
Hilliard grew fast in the 1990s. More than a quarter of its homes went up that decade, and the typical home was built in 1997. A roof put on in the '90s is around 30 years old now, at or past the usual life of asphalt shingles. If your house still has its first roof, it's worth a look before it starts leaking.
About a quarter of Hilliard's homes are newer still, built between 2010 and 2019. Those roofs usually have plenty of life left, which is when a repair makes more sense than a replacement.
Storms are the other thing. The June 2012 derecho hit 82 mph at the Ohio State University Airport, a few miles from Hilliard. Wind like that lifts and tears shingles even on a young roof.
